La Torta Della Nonna (Grandma’s Cake) is a delicious and delicate cake made with a soft shortcrust pastry and filled with plenty of thick Italian custard or chocolate cream and garnished with lots of pine nuts and icing sugar. It’s a Florentine recipe, but is also quite popular in Liguria; in fact many bakeries and coffee shops make this wonderful cake in Genoa.
